Professional Goals
|
"My mission is to provide superior technological skills, and accurate straight forward industry information, combined with personal care and commitment to each & every client. It's true I love selling homes, but what's really important is the respect & sincere concern extended to each person I work with. That's what fuels my energy levels, puts the smile on my face, and makes the long hours at the computer fly past. It's the kind of commitment that occasionally means walking away from a commission, when it's in a client's best interest. And yes, the smile is still there, even then!" |
About Ann's Real Estate Business
Each year over 35% of my income goes back into the business as I continue to expand the level of service and marketing for my clients. I strive toward improvement in every stage of the real estate transaction, and dedicate extravagant amounts of personal time and budget to education, new technology, and property marketing.
Ongoing education of industry technology, high standards of professionalism , loyalty and commitment to clients, is the core of my business philosophy.
Continuing Education ...
It is so unusual to find a purchaser or seller that understands just how much effort and time it takes for a Real Estate Agent to keep up to date on legislative changes, new contract forms, changing market trends, appraising guidelines, new mortgage programs, interest rates, technological advancements, web marketing strategies, fair housing laws, home inspection issues, construction basics, negotiation strategies, contractors, tax laws, moving problems, and psychological motivations.
To convey the level of time and effort I've dedicated to my practice, I have posted a list of my more recent continuing education classes. I can't think of a better way to let people know that Realtors do a lot more than "wheel estate" for Buyers and thirty minutes of "data" entry into MLS for Sellers.
Although license renewal requires at least 10 hours of continuing education every two years, I personally find that keeping up with the ever changing fast paced Real estate market requires a much higher commitment to ongoing education.

"Ancient History"
Ann Joliet has been a life long resident in the Rockville / Olney area. She grew up in Rockville and moved to Olney in 1973 and then to Brookeville in 1985. Real Estate has been a life long interest and as a result, she knows just about every inch of the Montgomery County area. In fact, at this stage, she's pretty knowledgeable about Howard, and Frederick counties too!
Ann laughs when she says she started training to be a Realtor at the age of 5.
"In those days, my parents were thoroughly interested in the new homes being built in Rockville and Potomac. Every Sunday, after church, we would tour model homes and then go for ice cream. It's scary to think that even as a small child, I remembered exactly what each model looked like and how much it cost! I was interested in tracking real estate prices, even then."
After graduating from college, Ann married an accountant/ mortgage officer at 1st National Bank, and briefly worked as a real estate sales assistant together with her husband, until starting a family.
In 1985, after two children were old enough be in school full time, Ann activated her real estate license and affiliated with the Long and Foster office in Olney.
In 1999, Ann moved to the Olney Re/Max office and February 2007 marks her 21st anniversary as a licensed full time professional RealtorŪ. Ann has received Outstanding Achievement Awards every year since 1989 and has achieved membership in the Re/Max Executive Club, President's Club and Re/Max 100 Club.
